Welcome to Falcons.
Our class teacher : Miss Fitzgerald
Our teaching assistant: Mrs Garrett
We are a class made up of Year Three pupils; our teacher is Miss Fitzgerald. We also have Mrs Garrett who help us with our learning!
In The Falcons Class, we are committed to working hard and growing together as curious, engaged learners. One of the things we love most is sharing the joy of reading as a class and exploring the incredible diversity of the world around us. Our studies cover a wide range of fascinating topics, including The Romans, where we learn about their empire and culture, The World Around Us, which broadens our understanding of different countries, environments, and global issues, and The Tudors, where we delve into one of the most dramatic periods of English history.
This year, we are guided by our Class Saint, Saint Jude, who is the Patron Saint of hope and impossible causes. He inspires us to stay hopeful and resilient, no matter how challenging things may seem.
Our teachers are passionate about making learning both fun and meaningful. They design lessons that spark our interest and creativity, while helping us develop a wide range of cross-curricular knowledge and essential skills. Skills which we’re constantly building on what we learn as we move through Key Stage 2.
Although we are dedicated to our studies, we also know how to enjoy ourselves! Learning in The Falcons Class is always exciting, with opportunities for hands-on experiences, fun activities, and memorable trips. We love taking our learning outdoors whenever we can, using nature and our surroundings to bring lessons to life. One of the highlights of our year will be our visit to Chedworth Roman Villa, where we’ll get a firsthand look at Roman history and culture. These trips not only enhance our understanding but also make our studies more engaging and fun.
As we move into the summer term, we eagerly anticipate taking part in the school show. It’s one of the most exciting times of the year, when we all get to shine on stage and contribute to an incredible production. Our class always brings extra energy and colour to the show with our lively dance routines, making it a truly unforgettable experience for everyone involved!
P.E.
Our P.E lessons will be every Wednesday and Friday so we will need to come dressed in their P.E kits on those days.
Homework
To support our learning, each child will have a reading book which has been carefully chosen based on our Accelerated Reader assessment. These books will be changed as often after we complete a comprehension quiz about it.
We are also expected to complete 30 minutes of TT Rockstars every week as this will benefit our multiplication abilities.
Additionally, we will have a spelling list every week that we will be tested on every Thursday.
