Owls Class

Welcome to Owls

Our Class Teacher:  Mrs Davey

Our Class TA: Mrs Rizzo

What we will be doing

Joining the Owl Class is a very important time. We have completed our first full year of school and are now ready and prepared for our new adventures! To help us to settle into Year 1, we learn through a mixture of child led play and adult initiated learning. We have opportunities to refine our art and design skills in the creative area and explore seasons and materials in the mud kitchen. We are very busy, independent learners who love to come to school!

We learn about lots of interesting things. In the Autumn Term, we study plants in Science and the ‘School Days’ topic across History and Geography. We have great fun making maps, exploring our school grounds and learning about school life in the Victorian era. We also enjoy performing in the Christmas nativity with the rest of EYFS and Key Stage One! This is a great way for us to build confidence of speaking and performing in front of crowds.

We have great fun making maps and exploring our school grounds. We also go on a school visit to Evesham and complete a fieldwork study. At Christmas time, we perform a nativity performance for the rest of the school with the other children across Reception and Key Stage One.

In the spring term, we learn about different animals and our bodies. We go on a great trip to ‘All Things Wild’ where we can see the different animals up close! We enjoy discussing whether they are carnivores, herbivores or omnivores and classify the animals into different groups. We also have fun learning about hot and cold countries around the world and the different explorers who discovered them.
