We are The Kingfisher Class, no longer the youngest in the school. We have reached our final year in Key Stage 1- Our Kingfisher Chiefs are Mr. McCumisky and Mrs. Farrell. We are lively and enthusiastic class and we can’t wait to see what we will be doing this year.
This year we will be learning about famous women in history, including Florence Nightingale and Rosa Parks. We will also be learning about the Great Fire of London and India - we would really like to try a sample of Indian cuisine!
We have trips planned to Cotswold Farm Park and we are really looking forward to a visitor from the past… Samuel Pepys!
In our English lessons, we will be reading and writing about dome fantastic stories such as the ‘Lumberjacks Beard’ and ‘The Day the Crayons Quit.’
In P.E we will be working with Mr. Ireland from Onside Coaching who also delivers after school football and enrichment activities to the whole school. Last year we did some archery which was great fun.
In our Art and Dt lessons we will be learning about Henry Rousseau and modelling our own buildings based on the Great Fire of London.
We will continue our RE studies, helping us to become better followers of Jesus.
As we get closer to Christmas, we will be taking a final leading roles in the Nativity - we will be rehearsing and putting a performance on for our parents and our Key Stage Two friends.
This year we are really looking forward to ‘Break the Rules Day’, ‘Comic Relief’ and the school Christmas party and discos.
We can’t wait to go on our school trip to Cotswold Farm Park it’s going to be totally wild!!!
