Welcome to Penguins!
Our Class Teachers: Mr Macfarlane
Our Class TA: Mrs Murphy
Welcome to the Penguin Class! We are a group of Year Four and Year Five pupils, guided by our teacher, Mr. Macfarlane. We’re also supported by Mrs. Murphy, and on Thursdays, Mrs. Farrel, who help us stay on track with our learning!
As some of the oldest pupils in the school, we’re preparing ourselves for the responsibilities that come with being among the older students. We continue to set a positive example for others by being role models. During Mass, we support the Year One pupils, guiding them through their faith journey and showing them how to participate in Mass with respect. We also work on leading prayer and liturgies in class, encouraging our classmates to grow in faith and show love for one another.
The Penguin Class always puts in their best effort across all subjects. We approach learning with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and remind ourselves that learning is a process. If we don’t know something yet, with time and practice, we can make progress. This year, we will study topics like the Vikings, Modern and Ancient Greece, Rivers, and our local area of Evesham. Our teacher ensures that each lesson helps us build a range of skills while giving us the chance to use our strengths to showcase what we've learned.
We make sure to work hard while also having plenty of fun. To enrich our curriculum, we enjoy a range of experiences and trips, such as visiting Bishops Wood and Oversley Hill Farm’s River. Year Fives even get to enjoy a two-night trip to Alton Castle, where they grow in independence, faith, and self-confidence. The trip is filled with exciting activities like mountain biking, archery, team building, and an assault course, along with engaging lessons about faith and how we can grow closer to God.
We are full of excitement for the year ahead. We're looking forward to taking on more responsibilities and stepping into leadership roles. We can’t wait to attend Mass and support the Year Ones in their faith journey, teaching them to be respectful. Our class will be known for our 'can-do' attitude, always eager to learn and improve. We're excited to dive into our interesting topics, and of course, we’re thrilled for the fun trips we’ll be going on, like Bishops Wood. Year Five is especially looking forward to the amazing two-night stay at Alton Castle. This year is sure to be packed with fun and learning, and we can't wait to get started!
